Charter schools are required to adopt policies and procedures that require employees to report to appropriate authorities, acts that have been committed or will be committed, which involve crimes.
Each Hawaii public charter school is governed by its respective governing board. The governing board is responsible for the financial, organizational, and academic viability of the charter school and implementation of the charter.
The State Ethics Code applies to charter school employees and members of Governing Boards. Guidance documents from the Hawaii State Ethics Commission help in learning about the State Ethics Code and the requirements.
