At its January 9, 2020, the State Public Charter School Commission approved a five-year charter school contract with conditions for Kua o Ka Lā New Century Public Charter School.
These are the following conditions for its new charter contract:
The school shall be no lower than 10 percentage points of the to-be-determined complex area proficiency in ELA, Math, and Science at the end of the fourth year of the Contract, as reported in the State’s accountability report. Should the school not meet this condition, the school shall surrender its charter at the end of the contract term (fifth year)The school shall be no lower than 10 percentage points of the to-be-determined complex area proficiency in ELA, Math, and Science at the end of the fourth year of the Contract, as reported in the State’s accountability report. Also, the school’s current virtual/blended program shall continue for the first year of its renewal contract and shall not expand beyond its current approved enrollment (120 students in grades four through eight); provided that the school shall implement its own-developed curriculum starting in the second year of its renewal contract.
